The Department of Technical Cooperation (TC) comprises the Division of Programme Support and Coordination and four regional Divisions.
The objective of the Division of Programme Support and Coordination is to develop strategies, policies, standards and tools to support the TC programme. The Information Systems Section is one of the Sections in the Division. It is responsible for the development, maintenance and support of the information systems and the local IT infrastructure for the TC programme. The users of the Section's services are the IAEA staff and counterparts in Member States involved in the planning and implementation of the TC programme. The TC operating environment is dynamic, participative and interactive. The IT software engineer is a member of a team of 10-15 staff led by the Section Head. |

The IT Software Engineer develops and maintains information systems and provides user support.
|
Role |
|
The IT Software Engineer plays the dual role of: (1) a developer, collecting user requirements, designing, programming and deploying systems following standards and agreed methods, aiming to achieve high quality in usability and technical design; and, (2) a team member for maintenance and support, responding promptly to user support and enhancement requests and ensuring high availability and smooth operation of the systems for which she/he is responsible.

Partnerships |
|
The IT Software Engineer dialogues with users and managers in the Agency and with counterparts in Member States to collect system requirements and responds to support requests. The incumbent works closely with peer developers in teams and jointly analyses requirements, designs and develops software systems. She/he contacts technical experts in other organizational units of the Agency and representatives of external suppliers to seek technical advice.

Remuneration |
|
The Agency offers an attractive remuneration package
including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $42 818 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a
variable post adjustment
which currently amounts to US $22 822*, dependency benefits,
rental subsidy,
education grant,
relocation and
repatriation expenses; 6 weeks' annual vacation,
home leave,
pension plan and
health insurance.
