The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is an independent United Nations organization headquartered in Vienna, Austria with 144 Member States and a staff of 2300, serving as the global focal point for international cooperation in the safe and peaceful use of nuclear energy.
The Division of Information Technology provides support to the IAEA in the field of ICT (information and communication technology), including information systems for technical programmes and management. It is responsible for planning, developing and implementing an ICT strategy, for setting and enforcing common ICT standards throughout the Secretariat and for managing central ICT services. The IAEA's ICT infrastructure comprises state-of-the-art hardware and software platforms in a partially decentralized environment. The Division has implemented an IT service management model based on ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and PRINCE 2 (Projects in Controlled Environment) best practices. The Systems Services Section is responsible for administering the central IT servers, providing secured services and managing the data centre. The platforms include 160 Microsoft Windows servers, 40 UNIX/Linux servers and 1 IBM mainframe, serving about 2500 users. The Section's working environment is dynamic with ongoing industry-influenced changes. The Enterprise Systems Administrator leads project teams and works under the guidance of a team leader in a matrix work structure. |
Main purpose |
|
As a member of a team, the Enterprise Systems Administrator provides technical leadership and advice for the design and structure of a group of enterprise products including databases, search engines, work group collaboration and Web content management (WCM) tools. He/she will be responsible for the secure and reliable operation of these enterprise systems software.

Role |
|
The Enterprise Systems Administrator is: (1) an administrator of operational system support services; (2) a project manager, initiating, planning, executing and controlling agreed work, and leading project teams; and (3) a team member of related project teams.

Partnerships |
|
The Enterprise Systems Administrator works closely with other members of the project and operations teams to plan and implement projects and to resolve problems. The incumbent also interacts with other staff in the Division, especially from the Business Solutions Section, IT systems and service users in the IAEA, as well as technical staff from other organizational units.

Remuneration |

The Agency offers an attractive remuneration package
including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $52 408 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a
variable post adjustment
which currently amounts to US $40 354*, dependency benefits,
rental subsidy,
education grant,
relocation and
repatriation expenses; 6 weeks' annual leave,
home leave,
pension plan and
health insurance.
