The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is an independent United Nations organization headquartered in Vienna, Austria, with 144 Member States and a staff of 2300, serving as the global focal point for international cooperation in the safe and peaceful use of nuclear energy.
The Division of Information Technology provides support to the Agency in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), including information systems for technical programmes and management. It is responsible for planning, developing and implementing an ICT strategy, for setting and enforcing common ICT standards throughout the Secretariat and for managing central ICT services. The IAEA's ICT infrastructure comprises state-of-the-art hardware and software platforms located in a central data centre. The Division has implemented an IT service management model based on ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and PRINCE2 (Projects in Controlled Environment) best practices. The Systems Services Section is responsible for providing highly available, high performance and secure system services to about 2500 users and for managing the data centre. The data centre consists of 160 Microsoft Windows servers, 40 Unix/Linux servers and 1 IBM mainframe. The system services include content management services, database administration services, file services, hosting services, storage services and web services. |
Main purpose |
|
As a member of a team led by the Section Head, the Systems Team Leader advises on planning, design, implementation and control of the installation and maintenance of hardware and software. He/she contributes towards ensuring that the capacity, reliability and availability of IAEA computing facilities meet the requirements of the organization. He/she leads the Windows server team and is responsible for providing technical leadership and resource management for Windows server infrastructure and related projects. He/she also provides leadership for information security in the Windows environment with an emphasis on proactive security measures.

The Systems Team Leader performs the roles of technical team leader, project manager, technical expert and supervisor for the Windows server environment.

Partnerships |
|
The Systems Team Leader guides and provides technical advice to other members of the project and operations teams. He/she also provides IAEA staff and external technical specialists and service providers with problem solving and cross-sectional project delivery.
The Systems Team Leader provides authoritative guidance on Windows technical issues to team members and advisory boards, and works with external vendors on initiatives towards introducing new technologies in the Agency. |

Remuneration |

The Agency offers an attractive remuneration package
including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $63 052 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a
variable post adjustment
which currently amounts to US $44 199*, dependency benefits,
rental subsidy,
education grant,
relocation and
repatriation expenses; 6 weeks' annual vacation,
home leave,
pension plan and
health insurance.
